The Facts
Who am I?
Social Worker. University instructor. PhD student. Amateur water colourist. Tentative hiker. Musical lover. Traveler. Friend. Sister. Daughter.
What do I do? A little of this, a lot of that.
Community Social Work
I provide social work support in community settings. I am a designated responder under the Adult Guardianship Act (AGA) Part 3 (more on this later) and provide social work support to adults 19 and older.
Education
I am an adjunct university instructor at the University of the Fraser Valley and have the pleasure of teaching social work and human services courses. I am passionate about making education safe and accessible, and supporting the work of those around me.
PhD
I am currently a social work PhD student at the University of British Columbia. My interests are understandings and assessments of risk, vulnerability, and decision-making and how this affects outcomes of adult protection investigations. I am particularly interested in how health care professionals are educated and trained to respond to concerns of adult abuse, neglect, and self-neglect and how risk, vulnerability, and decision=making are understood in health care settings.
